San Diego and the USS Midway

Daddy finished his last class - and his second bachelor's degree!! Not only that, but it was our fall break at the same time. To celebrate it all, we went to San Diego...and took Nanny and Papa with us! Papa and Nanny left on Friday morning...and took Elijah with them. I (Josiah) was star student of the week, so I got to take a special treat in to school on Friday afternoon. Daddy and Mommy brought in otter pops and then we left school after snack time. We drove with them and met Papa and Nanny in San Diego.

On Saturday we went to SeaWorld! It was so fun to see all of our favorite shows...including Shamu Rocks!! We were SO tired on Sunday from our long day at SeaWorld. We went to see the USS Midway that morning. The USS Midway is a big aircraft carrier that was actually used in the wars. It has tons of planes on it and we got to see all parts of it and how sailors lived on it. Here we are in the hangar. This is Eljiah and Daddy in the cockpit of a plane:Elijah trying to get himself buckled in to a pilot's seat:
Elijah listening to the tour:
Wow - a big jet! I wonder if this one is like the ones that fly over our house?
Filling in our test answers so we can earn our honorary pilot wings:

We found seats in the ready room!
The workers wear all different colors on the deck so that they know what each other's jobs are. It's too loud for them to talk out there when the jets are flying around.
That's a lot of buttons!
Jonathan thinks it stinks in here...Mommy thinks someone with a lot of cologne was in there before us...

Oh no! We got thrown in the brig!
We had a great trip to San Diego. Unfortunately we were all sick during fall break. Hopefully we'll get to do some fun things next week when we have early dismissal at school for three days. We really want to go to San Diego again. Maybe you can help convince Daddy and Mommy to take us one more time this year...

Whose Birthday?!

On Daddy and Aunt Mary's birthday we got to go on ANOTHER train ride! There is a place not too far away that has a bunch of model trains and you get to ride different paths. It was such a great treat for us and fun way to celebrate their birthday!
Here we are waiting to go on our first ride:Almost ready to go:

Christmas Morning 2010

Christmas this year was so much fun! We woke up Christmas morning to find that Santa had come and eaten the snack we left for him! We had a fun day with all of our family and celebrating Jesus' birth. Daddy and Mommy got us new train engines...
A new round house to go with the trains we already have...
And a new train table!!
Elijah wasn't quite sure about presents, so Daddy had to help him a little.
Santa put new trains in our stockings, too!
Oh my!

Still-Not-A-Surprise Party

At the beginning of December we once again attended the Surprise Party! It is becoming a tradition for us to go and see the hot air balloons all lit up and the tree-lighting ceremony. They did a count-down to the lighting of the trees and then they blew up all the hot air balloons at once. There were bands playing and a carnival, too!

Happy (Almost) Birthday!

In September I (Elijah) turned 1! We had a trip planned for my actual birthday, so we had a little early birthday party at Aunt Mary's house with A-Ma and A-Kong. Here I am checking out my birthday cake (I found out that I really like chocolate!): I was tired...

Thankfully my brothers helped me open my gifts, because I was just tired by the end of the evening. I love the new book I got, and just love to sit on Mommy's lap reading.

7

That's the number of years that Daddy and Mommy have been married - as of August 9th! We don't know what they did before us, but we're sure that their life was nowhere near as exciting. Anyway, here is a picture of the roses that we helped Daddy find to buy for Mommy. He buys her red and white roses every year since that was what she carried in her bouquet the day she was a princess and he was her prince!

Creepy, Crawly, Family Day!

In July Daddy took some days off so we got to have a little mini(van) adventure! We loaded up in the car and headed north to see what we could find.

We drove up and had a yummy breakfast at a little diner. Then we decided to keep going and visit Montezuma's Castle. When we got there, they had found a rattle snake and were in the process of checking it out and tagging it. Here is a picture of it - most of it is in the tube, and the tail is hanging out:When we were finished watching them with the snake, we walked down the path to see Montezuma's Castle:
A very nice park ranger took our picture:
On our way back up the path we found another snake. This one wasn't as big as the one the rangers caught, but we thought it was pretty neat, anyway!
While Mommy was waiting for us she looked up on the wall and found this BIG beetle:
After our breakfast and 'hike' we were so worn out from all the excitement...

Well, some of us were... :)

Legoland, Day 2

At our second day of Legoland we wanted to go to the aquarium again. So, we went back through and took more pictures. :) Here is a picture of us with Mommy 'inside' one of the tanks. Here we are outside of one of the Lego displays in the aquarium:

This is one of our favorite rides - we went on it with Daddy! We got to shoot water at people, and then they shot at us!!

Here is our second day of driving. We are much more comfortable with it and are enjoying it a lot!

Jonathan driving a yellow car:
We loved Legoland and hope that Daddy and Mommy will take us back there again! Elijah couldn't quite appreciate it like we did, but he did great hanging out while we had fun. :)
