We are in the midst of our second painting project of the house (the first was the babies' room). We chose two colors and painted them both in the kitchen. Here are the results below...let us know which one you like best...we can't agree. :) 
The left side is ebony, the right side and bottom picture is midnight.

I would choose right side and bottom. I like brighter color. It cheers me up.
I'm having a tough time seeing the difference :o) I think I like the lighter color better as far as contrast, the darker for matchy.
I don't see a difference either, but I like the sound of ebony better :) And I would go with a lighter black (dark grey) rather than a pitch black.
So, you painted them black and black. Hummm, I pick the black! (Sorry, can't see the difference.)
I am having a hard time as well, but it seems like the left side is a little more flat and a little lighter, and the right side is more shiny. I think I like the ebony better, but I think they'd both be ok. How's that for helpful? :)
